How to find an opportunity in 10 minutes
Atlas of Opportunity — a free catalog of research programs, internships, competitions, and scholarships open to high schoolers.
1 · Open the Finder
Go to https://atlasofopportunity.org/finder. You'll see every opportunity in the catalog. No sign-up, no email required.
2 · Narrow it to you
Set your grade, then pick the subjects you care about. Turn on “free only” if cost matters, and choose in person, hybrid, or remote. The count updates as you filter.
3 · Read the program page
Open anything that looks interesting. Program facts (deadline, cost, eligibility, format) come from the host's official page and show when they were last checked. General advice from Atlas is labelled separately — it's guidance, not a promise about that program.
4 · Save, track, apply
Mark programs Interested, then move them through Preparing → Applied → Interview → Decision in your Tracker. Your notes and deadlines stay in your own browser — nobody else sees them. Always apply on the host's official website.
A few honest warnings
- Deadlines change. Confirm on the official site before you plan around one.
- Match labels (Strong / Good / Possible) describe fit with your filters — not your odds of getting in.
- If a program asks for a large fee with no aid, be skeptical, and tell us so we can review it.
- Found something broken or wrong? Use “Report this listing” on any program page.
